The Salix production site is developed in compliance with the environmental impact meant for the containment of energy consumptions through solar panels,for waste management and for the use of controlled raw materials.
The membership to the XMC Group (which deeply believes in sustainability and collaboration as a strategic tool to improve corporate performance) leads Salix to the same philosophy. Salix “Clean Energy” Project involves all company operators and it’s a method for extending the energy culture to territory and schools, outside the company walls.
Since July 2021, Salix has obtained ISO 14001 certification: we use 100% renewable energy, obtaining it in part from our own photovoltaic system and in part by purchasing it from external renewable sources. Furthermore, the nascent Salix Sustainability Team will be exclusively dedicated to promoting sustainable good practices in the company and with customers.
Salix, with the adoption of an Etich Code, defines the rules under which its own company representatives must comply.
Salix devotes a percentage of its profits to the support of 3 different social projects:
1% goes to “Città della Speranza Foundation”, 1% is devolved to territory projects, one of which includes the environmental project “School of Monte di Malo” and 1% to “Home Matt project” in India.
Since 1994, the “Città della Speranza Foundation” has set itself the goal of improve the conditions of care and assistance for children with oncohematological diseases, as well as financing scientific research in the pediatric field. Thanks to the help of companies, associations, private citizens and the strength of volunteering, it has created and supports:
“A welcome, schooling and education project in the Matt House in Cuddalore-Tamil Nadu-India, to prepare orphaned, disadvantaged and abused girls to believe in a dream: a better future.”
Salix maintains its commitment to allocate 1% of its net profit to the Matteo Sacchi Foundation.
Salix reveals sensitivity towards social and humanitarian initiatives even outside the national territory. Following the earthquake that hit Nepal on April 25, 2015, it started a collaboration with GVC (Civil Volunteer Group) to support the hard-hit Nepalese population and restore economic and local development opportunities, especially in more rural areas. “
Salix is a company projected to the future and very attentive to the geographical area in which it operates with the launch of a school project involving the elementary school “Giovanni XXIII” of Monte di Malo. This project named “Adopt the school” is a three-year action plan shared in common with schools, companies and city administrations, aimed to make an institute sustainable.
